Devastating Tragedy: Man Killed After Being Struck by Flying Cow
This is a story that’s almost impossible to believe. An elderly man has been struck and killed by a flying cow. The LBC reports the man was 82 year old Shivdayal Sharma. He was relieving himself near some train tracks in Alwar, India. That’s when a cow was reportedly struck and launched 100 feet into the air by the Vande Bharat Express train. Sharma is believed to have been killed instantly when the nearly 1,000 pound animal struck him.
In light of this incident, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced new measures to keep livestock away from the tracks, including vegetation and garbage removal, as well as “frequent whistling at locations prone for cattle/animal runover”. The railway is also putting up metal fencing along the route in an effort to keep animals away. I guess it will also keep people from peeing near the tracks as well! The work is expected to be completed in the next 4 to 5 months.
