Woman Tired Of Waiting For “Perfect Partner” Takes Solo Honeymoon
Honeymoons are usually for married couples, but one Seattle woman decided not to wait for a husband to take hers. Brittany Allyn found herself frustrated with being single and feeling like she had all these places she wanted to travel to with a future partner, so she decided not to wait and went alone.
At 37, she found herself waiting for that “perfect partner” and perfect relationship to enjoy these experiences, until she came to a realization and asked herself, “Wait, why am I waiting?” Allyn also has dreams of being a mom, but she put those on hold for now to travel the world. So she booked a trip to London to freeze her eggs, then took a “solo honeymoon” to France and Italy.
Wow, I admire this girl so much! I love traveling with my girlfriends but to have the drive to take a solo honeymoon and freeze your egg to ensure your own happiness is very admirable!
“I think everyone has days where they’re like, I want that, the deep romance – but mostly I don’t feel pressure to get married,” Allyn shared with the Post. Since her getaway, she says she’s been living her best single life and sharing her experiences on social media, where she’s empowering other single women. “I think I’ve probably had a thousand messages of women planning their own me-moons,” gushed Allyn. “It’s been really cool to know that’s inspired women to solo travel, and I would say you’re not going to regret it.”
My friend Elena loves to travel solo. Two years ago she traveled to Peru by herself and she said it was one of the best trips of her life! So hats off to Elena, Brittany, and all the independent women making moves!
