North Carolina City One Of The Best 10 Best Spring Break Destinations In America
As someone who is born in raised in North Carolina, I can say that I have never spent Spring Break here but I will be planning a trip as soon as possible.
Most spring breaks were spent going to Myrtle Beach at my high school but Travel + Leisure says differently! Most of our listeners are either in the CMS school district or the Union County school district, both of which have their spring break approaching. No matter what grade you’re in, it’s a good time to get away and take a break.
Travel + Leisure came up with a list of the 10 best destinations for people to do exactly that: get away and take a break. Come to find out, they picked a spot right here in North Carolina for you to take your spring break vacation!
So what are you thinking? Previous reports named Asheville as a top spring break destination, but we’re here to tell you differently. Wrightsville Beach is the star of this article!
Here’s what Travel + Leisure had to say:
“One of America’s best beach towns, Wrightsville Beach offers water sports, restaurants, shopping, and local history. Stay oceanfront or near the harbor in the ideal place for your family or group of friends. Surfing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding are popular, and scuba divers seek out the area’s sunken ships, reefs, and sea life habitats. Even if it’s not swimming weather just yet, you can still enjoy being near the water on a cruise or fishing boat. Visitors can learn more about the area and imagine what it was like in the past in local museums.”
Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina came in at number 9, but here is the complete top 10 spring break destination list:
- Destin, Florida
- Cannon Beach, Oregon
- Park City, Utah
- South Padre Island, Texas
- Palm Springs, California
- Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
- Atlanta, Georgia
- New Orleans, Louisiana

- Phoenix, Arizona
