HOUSTON, TEXAS - JULY 05: A Chick-fil-A restaurant is seen on July 05, 2022 in Houston, Texas. According to an annual survey produced by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), Chick-fil-A has maintained its position as America's favorite restaurant for the eighth straight year in a row.
There is nothing like trying to get Chick-fil-a during lunch. The South Blvd location is just a few blocks from our office. However, it can take easily 45 minutes to an hour to just get there and get food to go. Yet it’s a mistake I seemingly made at least once a week. And while the traffic might make me angry, the food always makes up for it. But even if you aren’t looking for some delicious chicken, you still most likely end up in Chick-fil-A traffic from time to time. It’s not just the South Blvd location, trying to drive in the righthand lane around Cotswold heading into town on Randolph you’re almost guaranteed to get stopped. It’s part of why the Park Rd location was converted into a drive-thru only. It may be the future of Chick-fil-a establishments across the country.
And now the owners of the Cotswold Chick-fil-a want to do the same thing to that restaurant. WBTV reports that The Charlotte City Council’s zoning committee is expected to vote tonight on the future of the Chick-fil-a Cotswold. The proposed plan that would allow the owners to tear down and rebuild the location. The new building would be a drive-thru only location with two drive-thru lanes and more pick-up parking spots. There are currently two drive-thru lanes at that restaurant. According to WBTV, the vote is only being taken by the rezoning committee. If approved, the plan would go to the full city council for a vote. The project is expected to take about 6 months after it is given the go-ahead.
It's True North Carolina Is One Of The Most Chick-Fil-A Obsessed States
Chick-Fil-A is undisputably my favorite fast food restaurant. It’s actually the only one I eat with any regularity. And probably 75% of what I ate in college. So I’ve done my part in this statistic and in helping make North Carolina one of the most Chick-Fil-A obsessed states. Though I’m surprised we aren’t higher on the list. And Georgia, the restaurant’s home state didn’t come in first!
Take a drive around Charlotte at lunchtime (or breakfast or dinner) and you’re bound to pass an extremely long Chick-fil-A drive-thru line. So its popularity is well documented. But where did this list come from? It actually came from a survey about favorite fast food dipping sauces. You know you love some Chick-Fil-A sauce though I’m partial to Polynesian.
The team at Upgraded Points wanted to know: Which U.S. states are the most obsessed with this fast food chain, according to residents? To find out, they asked respondents in each state which fast food restaurant is their favorite. They then determined the states with the highest % of respondents reporting Chick-fil-A as their favorite. And over 45% of North Carolina respondents named it their favorite chain!
