Minnesota 13-Year-Old Is Set To Graduate With A College Degree
A Minneapolis 13-year-old is becoming a college graduate.
Elliott Tanner says after he gets his bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Minnesota, he plans to move on to a PhD physics program in the fall. He’s one the youngest grads the university has seen, and has been active in his studies through participating in undergraduate research and tutoring other students.
Besides physics, Tanner says he also has a love for pop-culture, namely the show “Young Sheldon.” He says he even got the chance to meet the actor behind the boy genius, Iain Armitage, and says the two of them have been friends since.
Elliott plans on being a high-energy theoretical physicist and ultimately a professor of physics at the university. There’s only one hiccup: his parents haven’t been able to get grants, scholarships, or funding to pay for Elliott’s education.
