Snow Storm Hits the East, Tornadoes Predicted For Carolinas
Another “bomb cyclone’ could be on its way to the Northeast.
Forecasters with the Weather Channel say a rapidly intensifying storm could hit parts of the central and eastern U.S. today and this weekend. Snow could fall as far south as Oklahoma, northern and western Texas, and the Ozarks. That includes Dallas. Mixed precip could fall in parts of the South like Virginia, Atlanta, and Tennessee.
In the Southeast, the Storm Prediction Center says damaging winds and “a few tornadoes” are possible late tonight into early Saturday morning, especially in the Carolinas.
In the Northeast, forecasters predict up to a foot of snow in some areas and are warning of strong, gusty winds of 40-to-60 miles-per-hour from the Carolinas to New England. Southern New England could see wind gusts of 70-to-90 miles-per-hour.
