Groom Slammed For Inviting Fiancée’s High School Bullies To Wedding
Lots of couples experience some drama when it comes to wedding planning, but it seems one groom is being slammed for something he did himself. In a post to Reddit’s “Am I the a-hole” section, the 33-year-old writes that he’s getting married next month and decided to invite “an old group of friends.” His future wife also went to high school with him and when she saw these names, she “went into panic mode.” The issue? This is the same group that bullied her as a teenager.
She told her fiancé that these kids “heavily bullied and harassed” her while she was dealing with “major health problems” and that they “made her life hell.” Naturally, she doesn’t want them at her wedding and told her future husband that, but he doesn’t see what the big deal is. He writes, “I asked her if she was serious because this was many years ago and everyone has matured by now.” The groom even told her it was “ridiculous” that she’s “so hung up on some petty high school drama.”
That didn’t go over well, she burst into tears and said he has “no consideration for how she feels.” So he turned to Reddit to ask if he was wrong for inviting his old friends to the wedding despite his bride’s disapproval. Commenters side with the bride on this one and slam the groom for his actions.
It’s not ‘petty high school drama.’ This is her LIFE, those are your formative years,” the Reddit reader points out. “I can see why OP was/is friends with this group; he isn’t very nice either.”
