North Carolina’s Highland Brewery Now SHARP Certified
Congrats to Highland Brewing Company in Asheville, North Carolina. They have achieved OSHA’s SHARP certification for a two-year period!
From OSHA’s website, “The program recognizes small business employers who have used OSHA’s Onsite Consultation Program services and operate exemplary safety and health programs. Acceptance of your worksite into SHARP from OSHA is an achievement of status that singles you out among your business peers as a model for worksite safety and health.”
Highland is the only SHARP-certified brewery in North Carolina. With this recognition, Highland is one of only 168 certified companies in North Carolina (which has about 304,000 companies) and one of two SHARP-certified businesses in Asheville.
“I congratulate Highland Brewing Company on this significant achievement,” said Labor Commissioner Josh Dobson. “SHARP certification recognizes a company’s commitment to safety and health, and I commend Highland for their dedication toward creating a safe workplace for all of their employees.”
Brock Ashburn, Vice-President of Highland Brewing Company said, “The health and safety of our team at Highland Brewing Company is job number one and we are proud of the progress thus far to create a strong culture of safety. Pursuing SHARP certification has been a company goal for several years.”
He continued, “The incredible leadership of the Consultative Services team at NCDOL was of paramount importance and it gave us the confidence to navigate the changes necessary to take our safety programs to the next level. We are grateful for the guidance and we look forward to continuing the momentum.” Congratulations Highland Brewery!
