Scientists Create AI That Detects Lies With 73% Accuracy
According to Daily Mail, A team from Tel Aviv University has invented a system that uses artificial intelligence to detect when someone is lying; they say it’s accurate 73% of the time, which isn’t as good as the 80% accuracy rate of a polygraph test. The scientists say they expect the system to improve as they continue working on it.
The system watches changes to two groups of facial muscles, the cheek muscles close to the lips and the muscles over the eyebrows. The team predicts that AI-equipped cameras could be used in the future at airports, during online job interviews, and more to tell when someone’s lying.
Here is the time the Morning Show took a lie detector test!
