Family Blasted For Buying Jet-Ski After Fans Raise $65k

In July, TikTok influencers The Smithy family had their house gas-bombed while they were asleep; the family escaped unharmed, but their 3.3 million fans wanted to help them rebuild. A GoFundMe was set up, and over $60k was raised. They’re now being criticized for buying expensive gifts like a jet-ski and showing them off on their channel.
In a recent video, Nick and Jess explained what they’ve done with the money, including donating to another family that lost everything in a fire, the MS Society, and the Azaylia Foundation. GoFundMe says the fundraiser was ‘within terms,” and that the family ‘has committed to donating over $44k to other good causes.”
