My Flavorful Shell-ebration at the North Carolina Tacos ‘N Taps Festival
Tacos are the answer, it doesn’t matter what the question is. But really, who doesn’t love a yummy taco? This past weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina and my significant other attended the 2021 Tacos ‘N Taps Festival. This all you care to taste beer and tequila festival offered up some of the triangle’s best tacos and Mexican food. There were live bands, a variety of margaritas, contests, and great fun.
This festival, due to the pandemic was postponed a few times. We held onto our tickets and were preparing to party like a guac star. (Sorry too many taco puns to pass up) We had the VIP tickets which offered one extra hour of tastings, four taco tickets, a souvenir glass and sombrero, limited admission, and other fun goodies.
When we arrived at the festival (promptly at 12 pm) there was a line out the door. It was cool at this time, but the festival was held on the pavement. I’m glad we got the VIP tickets because I think it would have been way too hot to actually enjoy the festival if we came later. We got our sombreros, taco tickets, a bandana, and sampling glasses when we walked in. We got to listen to this awesome mariachi band and checked out the list of places to eat.
Next, it was time to inhale the tacos and exhale negativity. The festival had at least 15 taco spots to choose from and with all the beer filling us up, we were only able to eat three. We snagged a steak, chicken, and chicken skewer taco during our time. You can see the tacos we enjoyed in my photo gallery below.
We didn’t stay long enough to see the games and contests, but I would have certainly enjoyed hitting the llama pinata. Overall I think this festival was SpecTACOlar and a great break from the workweek. I would definitely go to this event again but next time I would bring some sunscreen.
