North Carolina Is In Top 15 of the Most Stressed States In The Country
It’s no secret that folks everywhere are dealing with a lot of stress in their lives. Whether it’s money, family, health or something else, most people are affected by something, and right now those levels are probably even higher thanks to what we’ve all been through in the past year. But it turns out, where you live may play a role in how stressed out you truly are.
WalletHub set out to determine which states residents’ are the most stressed out. They used 41 stress indicators including average hours of work per week, personal bankruptcy rates, share of adults getting adequate sleep and more.

Topping the list this year as the ‘Most Stressed State’ is Nevada, which scores a 61.98 out of 100. Nevada lands at number one for family-related stress, is at 3 for work-related stress, and in the top 10 for money and health-and-safety related stress. On the other end of the spectrum, people in South Dakota have the least stress, with the state earning a score of 28.75. The state lands second-to-last for family-related stress, and in the bottom 5 for work, money and healthy-and-safety related stress.
