Airline Offering “Mystery Flights” To Secret Destinations
While many of us are excited to get on a plane and travel again, one airline is hoping people are so desperate for travel they’ll get on a plane even if they don’t know where they are going.
Australia’s Qantas Airlines is giving adventurous travelers the option of booking three domestic “mystery flights” to somewhere within Australia. Those who book won’t know their final destination, and only need to show up and board one of the airlines Boeing 737 aircraft to be whisked off to their surprise destination.
The three flights, which can be booked starting today, will take off from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, and travel somewhere outside of the “major capital cities,” but within two hours of their departure city. The trips cost $577 for economy seats and includes planned activities at the mystery destinations.
Quantas did offer a few clues as to where the flights are going, noting that folks departing from Brisbane will experience “country hospitality,” as well as food and wine, those from Melbourne can expect to enjoy hiking, or browsing through farmers markets, and those leaving from Sydney will experience “long lunching on the beach” at a tropical destination.
