Yosemite’s ‘Firefall’ For 2021
The firefall phenomenon at Yosemite’s horsetail falls requires very specific weather and light conditions to be seen, and has begun appearing at sunset in the past week. It appears only for a few minutes at a time as a stream of light runs down El Capitan’s eastern face. Once per year, the setting sun hits Horsetail Falls at just the right angle, to illuminate the upper reaches of the waterfall, and when conditions are perfect, Horsetail Falls glows orange and red at sunset, giving the illusion it’s on fire.

I was fortunate enough to not only travel to Yosemite but to hike the actual hike to the top of Yosemite Falls. It was the TOUGHEST thing I have ever done in my entire life. The incline, the switchbacks, the altitude and temperature changes…it took everything out of me physically and mentally. Below are some pictures of the hike:
