Officials have issued a Winter Weather Advisory tonight for central NC and the surrounding area, reaching all the way from Boone to Raleigh to Beaufort and Morehead City.
ABC11 meteorologist Don “Big Weather” Schwenneker predicts much of North Carolina will receive up to an inch of snow between midnight and 6 am.
Almost all of NC including Charlotte has been getting quite a bit of rain the past few days. For central NC, meteorologists predict that this rain has a good chance of turning to snow overnight tonight. It’s not expected to stick for very long as predictions say temperatures will get up to the 40s by sunrise Thursday morning.
Unfortunately here in the Queen City, all we’ll get is rain, rain, and more rain. Boo. But tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday, we are expected to get a break from the rain with some sunshine.
Hopefully, before the season is over, we’ll get a chance to have a snow day.
