12% Of This Age Group Hasn’t Had Any Sexual Experiences In Three Years
We can blame COVID for the world’s dry spell, but the truth is that things haven’t been very sexy for a long time. According to a new survey, 12% of people say they haven’t had an intimate sexual experience for over three years. This may not seem like a high number but when you consider this means that one out of 10 folks haven’t even kissed someone since 2017, it’s not exactly a happy number now is it.
Tiredness was the biggest reason that people gave for choosing not to get it on in over a thousand days. And working from home and all the stress from last year didn’t give anyone the jolt of energy they were looking for to get back in between the sheets. In fact, a separate study back in April 2020 found the majority of people reported not having more sex than usual. Despite there being almost nothing else to do with their boo.
Mental health came in a close second for things preventing fulfilling sex lives and stress alone contributed to 57% of people not feeling in the mood. And in a sign that the younger generations are more in tune with their mental wellbeing, or dealing with more crap, 43% of 18-24-year-olds say their sex life has been ruined by anxiety. Meanwhile, only 12.7% of Baby Boomers said the same. Okay, Boomers… no need to brag.
