Elderly Pizza Delivery Man Gets A Huge Tip
Being elderly should mean enjoying the twilight years.
Not so for Utah’s Derlin Newey, who is 89-year-old. He works 30 hours a week as a pizza delivery man because social security checks just don’t cut it. His online community just made things a little better.
The plan to tip Newey a whopping $12-thousand starts with The Valdez family, who love Newey as pizza guy. They ask for him by name and record the deliveries for TikTok. Carlos Valdez noticed most commenters shared concern that Newey had to work so hard at his age.
That’s when Carlos asked followers to chip in for a “tip” for the oldster. Tuesday morning, the Valdezes went to Newey’s house to give him the gift.
All Newey could say was “How do I ever say thank you? I don’t know what to say.”
