RUDE: Bride Finds Her Wedding Dress At H&M and Gets Teased For It
Weddings can become really expensive, so many couples try to save anywhere they can when planning. One bride-to-be was “dreading” going shopping for her wedding gown at stores where everything has a high price tag and she was delighted when she found a “lovely, fairly traditional dress” online at a surprising spot: H&M. She says the off-the-shoulder lace design was even on sale, so she bought it, but now the way some of her friends are reacting has her second-guessing her choice.
The future bride says she tried on the dress in front of her family and future mother-in-law and everyone agreed it “was the one.” They all felt her frock fit really well and looked well made, but then some of her “good friends” started asking questions about where she bought it and if she was definitely going to wear that one or go to a “proper” wedding dress shop. Their comments have left the bride doubting her dress and in a post on Mumsnet, which has now been deleted so the gown can be a surprise at the wedding, she asks for advice.
“Shall I take it that it’s hideous?” the soon-to-be-bride asks. “Or maybe just stop telling people where it’s from?” Mumsnet users seem to have her back, with many telling her to ignore the comments and that they don’t matter as long as she loves the dress. Her post originally included a photo of the dress and users commented that it’s “lovely” and “gorgeous.” And one tells her to “be proud” of the fact she’ll “look stunning” for a modest amount and she’ll still have money left for their honeymoon and home essentials.
