Beloved ‘Cheers’ bar in Boston Closes Due To COVID-19
The “Cheers” bar in Boston’s Faneuil Hall is closing after 20 years in business.
The replica bar of the popular sitcom that aired from 1982 to 1993 has fallen victim to the ongoing pandemic according to CEO Markus Ripperger. It’s final day serving customers will be August 30th.
Anyone feeling nostalgic can still go to the original location that inspired the series in the first place which is open on Beacon Street. They may even know your name.
The real bar the TV show was inspired by is The Bull & Finch and is not in danger of closing.
