North Carolina High School Sports Season Pushed Back Again
Back in July, Commissioner Que Tucker had announced that North Carolina high school sports would be held back until at least September 1st. Now, after Gov. Cooper’s extension of NC’s Phase 2…the delay extends to beyond September. NCHSSA officials are working on a schedule and hope to have an announcement by August 17th.

Currently high school sports are in Phase One of summer conditioning and the workouts will continue.
As a former high school athlete, I am absolutely devastated at the thought that students, especially seniors, might miss out on their sport season. When I think of any of the ‘positive qualities’ I have, especially in the workplace, I usually can relate them all back to my time on a high school varsity team. I hope everything gets better and they’re able to work it out for the sake of these children.
