The outpour of love and support the world has shown for George Floyd and his family is setting records. As reported by People, George Floyd’s GoFundMe has received the most individual donations in the crowdfunding platform’s history.

As of right now, George Floyd’s GoFundMe has around 479,000 donations and has raised over $13 million. The original goal for the page was to get $1.5 million. People adds that donations have been made by people from 125 different countries around the world.

The fund, created on May 27, was set up and is being run by Adner Marcelin of Ben Crump Law. In the description for the fund, George’s brother gives a recount of the incident and also explains what the money donated will be used for.  “This fund is established to cover funeral and burial expenses, mental and grief counseling, lodging and travel for all court proceedings, and to assist our family in the days to come as we continue to seek justice for George.  A portion of these funds will also go to the Estate of George Floyd for the benefit and care of his children and their educational fund.”
