How My Wife and I Are Making Sure Change Happens
My wife and I were brought up from different backgrounds. She was raised in Memphis and I raised in NJ. We came up in totally different environments, Memphis is a very urban city and my town in NJ was as suburban as can be. The one thing we both agree on is, that we want our kids to be raised treating everyone as equal. If we can do that, then our kids won’t discriminate against someone based on the color of their skin. That’s a real thing, that’s the issue with so many protestors locally and nationally.
Our hope is that one day if my son Dean or daughter Ruby are in power positions they will treat people based on merit and not the color of their skin. That’s how we’re dealing with change in our house.
