Single Mom Fights Back After Putting Note on Daughters Back Here’s What it Said
Going to the grocery store these days can be an ordeal, and the fewer people at the market the better to lessen the risk of getting the virus. But one woman recently had to bring her daughter to the market, and since she expected shaming from the public, she came prepared.
MaryAnn Fausey Resendez recently headed to the market with her daughter, putting her in a facemask and gloves, along with a note pinned to her back. “I am only 5. I can’t stay home alone so I have to buy groceries with mommy,” it read. “Before you start judging stay back 6 feet.”
MaryAnn, a Texas firefighter and tattoo artist, explained the reason behind the sign noting, “The sign I made her wear because I just know some [expletive] will take a picture & talk [expletive] on social media, not knowing all the facts.”
The post garnered MaryAnn a lot of support, especially from fellow single mothers.
- “I dare someone say something to me if I have to take my child to the market with me cause I have no other choice,” one wrote. “And let someone suggest I leave my 6 year old alone…”
- Another added, “Thank you for protecting her because you have no choice but to take her with you. I see people all the time with their kids out running around crazy touching everything and no mask.”
- There were a few people who still judged MaryAnn for her decision, but MaryAnn quickly shut them up by sharing the list of precautions she took make sure she and her daughter were safe at the market, including plenty of hand sanitizer, wiping down the carts and more.
