UPDATE: MRL’s Operation Kids Care – How Are We Doing?
About a month ago, things changed in the Carolinas due to the Coronavirus. One of the many things that changed due to this is that our elderly population that lives within assisted living facilities can no longer receive guests. As someone who has a grandmother in an assisted living home, I know first hand how important those in-person visits are. As someone who still has a job, has a safe living space, and is in optimal health, I asked on air…what can I do to help? One of the first replies I got was ‘send cards to the elderly who cannot receive visitors.’
Perfect. Done. That is something I can do. That is something I can promote. So that is why we launched Operation Kids Care! As of 7:11am on April 14th 2020…we have sent 905 cards! When we first set out on this mission to send cards to different homes within the Carolinas, we set a goal of 1,000 cards. Well..scratch that, the goal has moved on to 2,000! Or however many it takes.
