Mother In Law Spoils Birth Announcement With Facebook Post Before Parents
Being pregnant, I am always afraid of this happening!
When you have a baby, it’s your right to share that news with the world, if and when YOU are ready to. But one mom didn’t get that chance…because her mother-in-law stole her thunder by announcing the news of her grandchild’s arrival first. In a Reddit post she shared how her Mother In Law ruined her first child’s birth announcement…and that she’s still fuming over it months later.
The mom writes that she loves sharing cute baby photos on social media, but feels that the first photo posted of her newborn should have been reserved for her. And her husband’s mom took that away from her by snapping shots of the brand-new baby and uploading them to her Facebook page before she had the chance to breastfeed, “shower off the gore,” or maybe most importantly – tell the rest of her family that she’d given birth. And the worst part? The MIL even revealed the baby’s gender, which was supposed to be a surprise!
Other Redditors were angry on her behalf and showed their support in the comments. “Next time you should announce the birth on Facebook before you tell her,” one writes.
