Corona Virus Causes Problems In America For The Wedding Industry
Some brides-to-be are quickly shopping around for a dress before stores run out.
About 80-percent of all gowns are made in China but several factories remain closed amid the coronavirus outbreak. This has caused at least a month delay, but many are worried about a shortage by summer. Bridesmaid dresses are also in danger of being delayed for shipment.
Wedding dresses take as much as 100 hours to stitch by hand, depending on how intricate they are.
Retailers such as David’s Bridal have inventory set aside at warehouses while others are stocking up. David’s has a plan to airfreight dresses for clients if needed.
