Peanut Butter Flax Dog Treats
Charlotte is known for its brewery scene. What it will soon be known for is giving dogs beer…kind of.
Used brewery grains are now being used as dog treats. Most of the time breweries will donate their spent grains to farms for livestock feed, that’s when Eric Westerduin of Calvin’s Craft Cookies got the idea to make them into delicious dog treats.
The owners who has a vet tech background, began testing recipes last summer. They cooked up “Peanut Butter Flax” and hit the streets in search of four-legged taste testers. Luckily, most of the dogs and owners were very pleased.
Now every time you drink a beer, just think about all the dog treats you are creating.
