Reasons Why You Should Visit Pigeon Forge in 2020
One of my goals for this new decade (2020-2030) is to visit all 50 states! Even though I’m only at two right now (NC & SC) I’m still looking ahead and always trying to plan a quick weekend getaway. In my search to find things close to Charlotte, I came across Pigeon Forge in Tennessee! It’s only 3.5 hours away from Charlotte…such an easy drive in my opinion!
Here are some of the fun things I found going on in Pigeon Forge this year:
- Dollywood theme park’s 35th season unveils the new five-week Flower & Food Festival (May 8-June 14)
- North America’s first Alpine flyer coaster, equipped with laser guns, is located at Rowdy Bear Ridge Adventure Park (open year round)
- Titanic Museum Attraction hosts the single most requested and important artifact from the historic ship – bandleader Wallace Hartley’s violin – on display from July 1 through Dec 30
- Flying Ox – the world’s first cable-to-rail zipline coaster
- Appalachian Springs Outdoor Resort & trout farm
- The Sunliner Diner
- It’s Christmas 365 days a year at The Incredible Christmas Place
There’s so much more! The best part is it’s only 35 miles from Knoxville…so if you’re like me and you like to visit multiple places in one trip…this is your place!
