Charlotte MLS Update City Says It Will Pay For Stadium Upgrades If Panthers Stay
Some news quietly broke about our MLS team yesterday. Charlotte’s chief financial officer said Wednesday the city can “absolutely” afford to spend $100 million on stadium upgrades, but they want David Tepper to agree the Panthers won’t move to South Carolina.
The other issue is building the new soccer team’s facility on the former Eastland Mall land. A practice field and the team offices will be built there. They’re waiting on zoning for that project.
Steve Maney’s radio career has taken him all over the US, from interning with Howard Stern to working with Elvis Duran, this radio veteran now calls Charlotte and Kiss 95.1 home. He is Kiss’ staple entertainment guy writing about his thoughts on local news and funny topics like the name of the male Karen. It’s so much to know, but Maney will deep dive into any topic to get you a great piece to read.
