Between 2017 and 2018, suburbs grew twice as fast as their inner-city counterparts and that trend is expected to continue this year. But they aren’t just trading they're apartments and subway cards for a house and a minivan. They've still got some cool left in them!
As they are moving into the suburbs they are dragging their favorite parts of city living with them. So welcome to “hipsturbia.” Small town living with big city accessories. They are looking for walkable town centers with wide sidewalks and restaurants, shops, apartments, and offices on the same block. And don’t be afraid to skimp on the parking because they are still down to Uber.
I hope you don’t mind if our kombucha brewery takes over that space from the abandoned Kmart.
