Braids For Short Hair Like LauRen’s
I love a good French braid but having short hair myself doesn’t always work well for me. A French braid is commonly done with long hair but just because you have short hair doesn’t necessarily imply that you can’t dig the looks. A French braid always has a distinct way of adding a classy and stylish appearance to any outfit. And as someone who has short hair, I definitely know the struggle of trying to braid your hair in a cute French braid. So today, I’m going to show you a quick and easy way to make a single French braid on just one side of your head.
Directions:
- Using a comb or your finger, make a deep part on any side of your choice. To create a natural appearance, use the arch of your brows as a guide for parting.
- To begin the French braid, grab a diagonal section from the hair in front of the part and divide it into three to create your first strands.
- Take the divided strand that is closest to your face, overlap it to the middle so it becomes the middle strand, and do the same for the other strand at the end. Always have it at the back of your mind that the two end strands will always overlap the middle strand.
- The next step is to repeat the process again but this time add more hair to make the braid thicker. Take the strand that is closest to your face and cut a deeper section from the back then overlap it to the middle. Do the same for the other strand at the end. You would constantly be braiding your hair to the back of your head and anytime you go towards the front (the strand closest to your face), you need to add more hair.
- Repeat the process of adding hair to the front and back strands and overlap them to the middle strand to create a French braid. You can stop braiding when the braid is at the same level with your ear and secure it with an elastic band.
