Why Age 4 Is The Perfect Age To Plan A Family Vacation
I guess the perk of having older children is that you get to enjoy a more relaxed vacation without worrying about their meltdowns. I don’t currently know what that’s like, even though Cashton is decently good on vacation as long as we stay close to our normal schedule. The struggle to get those little kids to listen to you is like an uphill battle when you say stop is the time they want to go, especially if they are hungry or tired.
So it is not surprising that kids above 4 years are much easier to handle than kids below that age. Apparently 4 years old is the magic vacation age.
I am counting the days until Cashton hits this age. Mainly because at 4 years, kids become more informed and independent to do certain things on their own.
Now, that’s not the case for every kid. Usually, at a particular age, kids become more excited and willing to explore and go on adventures with you. They may even be more energized than you, so get ready for that. At that moment, you should enjoy every bit of it because kids can grow into young adults within a blink of an eye and become occupied with their own activities and they do not have time for a family vacation.
Nevertheless, I’m patiently waiting for the time when it’ll actually be stress-free and enjoyable to go on vacations with my Cash. He just turned 3 years old this weekend so I’m ready for the day I can start planning a stress-free family vacation.
