Phew! Lil Wayne Is Not Quitting Blink-182 Tour
Lil Wayne wasn’t serious, y’all. It turns out Tunechi won’t be bailing on his current summer tour with Blink-182 after all.
After Lil Wayne abruptly walked offstage after playing only four songs during his set on Thursday night (July 11), ticketholders were worried that he might be done with the tour altogether. “I’m not sure how long I’m going to be able to do this tour but make some noise for blink-182 for including me anyway,” he said from the stage Thursday night after stopping a song. “This might be my last night though,” he continued before ending his abbreviated set.
Some have pointed to the make-up of the crowd for causing Wayne’s concerns, with the rapper perhaps feeling out of his element at the celebration of blink-182’s pop-punk classic Enema Of The State. The band is playing the album in full for its 20th anniversary, with Weezy being an unlikely opener for the group. However, after hours of reflection and maybe a few friendly reminders of his commitments, Lil Wayne reconsidered his statement.
He later tweeted:
Yesterday was krazy! But I want all my fans to know I won’t be quitting this tour! I’m having too much fun with my bros blink-182. Bangor,ME See you tomorrow!
