Nick Jonas has revealed that he feared when he suggested that the band break up that he was concerned his brothers would never speak to him again.

In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Nick sat with brothers Kevin and Joe where they discussed their highly-publicized breakup and extremely successful comeback. The group is preparing for the release of their Amazon Prime documentary, Chasing Happiness, out Tuesday June 4, as well as their album, Happiness Begins, out Friday June 7.

But it took a lot of work for the brothers to get back together.

“To call it creative differences is almost too simple,” Nick said. “And I think a lot of people lost the appetite for what we were putting into the world. So, you know, we were putting up shows that weren’t selling. We were making music that I don’t think we were all super proud of, and it wasn’t connected.”

“I said, ‘You know, I feel like the Jonas Brothers should be no more, and we should go on individual journeys,’” he added. “And it didn’t go so well.”

“I feared that, you know, we – they would never speak to me again.”

Still, ultimately, the brothers conceded that it was all for the best.

As Joe added, the split afforded them “a do-over and I think this time around we’re going to do it right.”
