The comedian and actor shared a video of both hosts on his Instagram page wearing blackface during an episode of The Savoy Show.

As a caption, Cannon wrote, “Are these your Kings of Late Night??? @JimmyFallon @JimmyKimmel you know I’m always on the side of the comedian and never pander to the sensitive, but I feel there needs to be some “truth & reconciliation” discussions and teachable moments amongst our communities. I’m ready and willing for the discourse, so who wants to step up to the table first? In the meantime, I’ll just leave this right here. Tell the Jimmys to holla at me!✊????”
The two can be seen in the video not only wearing blackface but also mocking black people.
In the skit Fallon said, “I’ve seen Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and guess what. Not a lot of black folks on the show… You know why? Because black folks don’t like to answer questions. All they want to be millionaires… We got to ask their kind of questions like in 1981 how many grams of crack did Rick James smoke when he recorded “Super Freak?”
Comedian and HBO’s Insecure star Amanda Seales chimed in and said, “They say Tropic Thunder and thought sh** was sweet?”
Hip-Hop legend Russell Simmons commented, “Jesus I mean Jesus This sh** hurts”.
Artist Sy Air Da Kid commented, “I don’t know G I f*** with the jimmys they showed us mad love,” and Cannon replied,” I don’t think we cancel them, I got love for those men. But we must speak Truth before we can Reconcile.”
Luxury brands like Prada, Gucci, and apparel brand Montcler, and singer Katy Perry’s shoe line have all been under fire for releasing threads and shoes that resemble blackface.
