Total Instagram Takeover!
The beloved social media app may have just gotten a whole lot better with the new expansion…
Instagram is no stranger to taking features of other apps and adding them to their social media metropolis (i.e “filters” and “story” options as seen on Snapchat), but they’ve just upped the ante on this new development! The app has heard the desperate requests for “longer videos” from their users and decided to do them one better and launch an entirely new platform that allows for new streaming and viewing options. Some of them are videos longer than 60 seconds, the proper clipping/merging of video segments, tutorials, vlogs, and any other video your heart desires!
This new platform is called IGTV which will be a separate app from Instagram used strictly for video uploads and a more “phone friendly” viewing experience. Despite it being more practical for phone use, IGTV will also allow you the option to upload videos from your desktop directly to your own personal channel for all to see!
With many people excited about this new up and coming app, some may not be as thrilled as it may pose a few issues with other popular video platforms like YouTube and Vimeo which are already used for vlogging, tutorials, personal videos, etc.
