In the Spotlight: Shawn Mendes
Canadian singer-songwriter, Shawn Mendes got his start on YouTube all the way back in 2013.
It didn’t take long for this young star to develop a strong fan-base from posting covers on his YouTube channel and six-second covers on Vine.
Only a short year after his YouTube career started, Mendes released an EP that soon reached top 10 in the U.S. and Canada. His first hit, titled “Stitches,” even reached number one in the United Kingdom. By 2016, Mendes released his second album, “Illuminate” and began his World Tour. This second album includes hit songs like, “Treat You Better” and “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back.”
He wrapped up his World Tour in December of 2017 and surprised fans with another album in late May 2018. His third album debuted at #1 of the Billboard 200 and Mendes became the third youngest artist to collect three #1 albums. His self-titled tour kicks off in 2019, but you can stream his new album with hits like, “In My Blood” in the meantime!
