Did The Weeknd Just Put Out A Song Dedicated To Selena?
Selena Gomez and The Weeknd broke up in September of 2017, but it is now March of 2018 and The Weeknd has a new album that sounds a lot like a break up album.
It was breaking news when Selena & The Weeknd got together, since it was Selena’s first public relationship since her on & off again boyfriend, Justin Bieber. When they broke up back in September of last year, the world wondered what Gomez’ next move would be. Would she go back to the Biebs? Yes, she sure did. While Selena has been public with Bieber over the past few months, it seems like they have split again.
The Weeknd, on the other hand, has stayed pretty quiet since September…until now. His latest six-track album, My Dear Melancholy, seems to be a Selena Gomez album.
His first single from the album, ‘Call Out My Name,’ is a little too personal for comfort.
“I said I didn’t feel nothing/ Baby but I lied,
I almost cut a piece of myself for your life/
Guess I was just another pit stop/
’till you made up your mind/
you just wasted my time.”
The lyrics get even more personal than that, if you can believe it! The album is fire, and even Selena’s close friends are giving him praise for the album on social media.
