If You’re Stumped At An Interview These Tips Can Put You On Top
It may feel like you’re suffocating in that interview room but these tips are sure to bring you comfort.
First things first. Calm down. It’s best to take deep breaths to keep yourself level-headed. If you don’t know something, don’t say that right off bat. Try and come up with an array of words that isn’t just “I don’t know.”
Always ask questions. Cannot stress that enough, if something stumps you ask questions about it! Even though you may have shortcomings let your interviewer know what you are knowledgeable about. It shows that you do have some wisdom on the matter.
Let them know how you would find the answer. Take them through your thought process of figuring out what the right answer is. It shows your critical thinking skills.
Know the right time to come clean. There comes a time when you just have to admit you don’t know what the person is talking about. It’s okay.
Last but definitely not least… send a follow-up email. This will let your interviewer know you are grateful that they took the time to meet you at the end of the day.
Don’t beat yourself up if you bomb an interview, it might just mean there’s a better job out there for you. One day there will be an interview that you truly nail.
