If you’re a beer snob, you’ll go out of your way to get your hands on rare brews.

Part of the fun is spending money to sample unique beers, or traveling to different states to experience local breweries. But Sam Adams has created the ultimate test of how dedicated you REALLY are to your beer drinking.

The company is releasing an “extreme, barrel-aged beer” that’s so potent (it’s 28 percent ABV) that it’s actually illegal in 12 states. If you’re brave enough to try the beer, there are two things to know: 1.) there are only 13,000 bottles available across the country, so you’d better act quickly. 2.) Drinking this exclusive, super strong concoction is going to cost you. One bottle is priced at $199. Yep. You read that correctly.

A bagel topped with gold from the Westin Hotel in New York City

You rely on your everything bagel with cream cheese to get you through the morning, but if you’ve got extra (and we mean a LOT of extra) money to spend, why not spice it up a bit? The Westin Hotel in New York City offers a bagel topped with white truffle cream cheese, goji berry jelly, and gold flakes. Oh, a thousand dollars. Just a bit pricey considering you’ll be hungry in an hour.

What’s better than a post-dinner cannoli? How about a cannoli that’s covered in gold? If you’ve got thousands of extra dollars laying around, it could be yours. Better enjoy that dessert!


The Golden Opulence Sundae from Serendipity 3

This is definitely not your average neighborhood ice cream stand sundae. It’s got scoops of Tahitian vanilla ice cream, rare chocolate imported from Venezuela, gold-covered almonds, and caviar. You’ll also find an edible 23-karat gold leaf, and a gilded sugar flower. Oh, and the whole thing comes in a crystal goblet and is eaten with an 18-carat gold spoon.
