Halloween Myths Debunked
We’ve all heard the myths before.. black cats aren’t available for adoption.. the candy is poisoned, etc. Well.. time to rest because most of those fear mongering myths are actually not true!
Myth #1: People poison the candy: we’ve all heard it.. razor blades in apples, LSD in the candy. Facebook has shown us pictures and articles of these things but the tales are urban myths. Thank god!
Myth #2: It’s open season on black cats: social media has made people believe that Halloween has become the purge for black cats but the ASPCA website states, “while it is true that animals too often become the victims of holiday pranks and cruelty, there is no reason to believe that witches are involved, or that shelters are a source,” the group says shelters should follow normal adoption procedures during Halloween.
Myth #3: The reason behind Halloween is Satan: Many Americans believe Halloween is actually for Satan worship. Actually, scholars have traced Halloween’s roots to an ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain.
