Parents Are Going All-In On Their Kids’ Birthday Parties!
If you thought that a birthday party these days requires just a cake and a few simple invitations, think again!
Courtesy of an article found on the New York Post, a British survey has found that parents these days are spending about $28,000 on a single child’s birthday parties from birth to the age of 21. Typically, the biggest expenses tend to be the cake (often costing from $400 to $600), the entertainment, and the fancy venues that house all of the fun. We gotta wonder: why is it necessary to shell out so much every single year? As the article notes, social media has played a significant role in inspiring parents to go big or go home in celebrating their kids’ special days. With everyone and their mother updating their social media accounts with images and stories of their children’s lives, the idea of trying to outdo the rest is always on the brain, especially when it comes to birthday parties!
