Popular Charlotte Biscuit Spot ‘Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit’ Closing Its Doors
Say it isn’t so! The popular Charlotte restaurant Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit is closing its doors. The Charleston-based restaurant opened their Charlotte location two years ago. It was located in The Penrose apartments and opened in January 2020. With not much time before everything changed it’s not surprising they struggled. In fact, the struggles were documented on an episode of the PBS series “That’s How She Rolls”. It showed the challenges the restaurant faced in the wake of the shutdowns.
Additionally, the Charlotte locations page of the Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit website has the following message:
The Charlotte eatery’s page of the brand’s website says, “Due to staffing issues, our Charlotte eatery is temporarily closed.” However, an email from National Restaurant Properties has advertised the space for lease, saying: “Callie’s Hot Little Biscuits had a difficult time recovering from the constant hits of Covid. So their loss is your gain! They spared no expense here on the build-out. This is a cool, funky little restaurant/cafe space that is begging for the next locally-owned take-out friendly concept to emerge in the heart of South End.”
If you still want to get your fix don’t worry! Some products are available in grocery stores. But you can also check out their locations in Charleston at both the City Market and on upper King Street. There is also a location in Atlanta.
