Welcome To Charlotte Gordon Hayward
Welcome To Charlotte Gordon Hayward!!! In a shortened and quirky off season in the NBA where we saw the Lakers win an NBA Championship in October, and the NBA Draft take place a week before Thanksgiving, the NBA kicked off it’s free agent signing period on Friday. Gordon Hayward, who was sought after by Charlotte during the 2014 free agent signing period, most recently had signed a max contract with the Boston Celtics. However, after 3 uninspiring seasons, and the elevation of Jaylen Brown, and Jason Tatum, Hayward elected to leave via free agency.
The rumor that was floating around NBA circles was that Hayward would be returning to his hometown to play for the Indiana Pacers. As late as Saturday AM it was believed that the Boston Celtics would be facilitating a trade with the Pacers to accommodate Gordon Hayward’s request. After failing to sign him six years ago, Michael Jordan and the Bulls front office pulled it off this time. Now with the addition of Hayward, and first round draft pick Lamelo Ball the Hornets may very well be on their way to a return to the NBA Playoffs. Thanks to my coworker, Lester Raeford for keeping me informed during the holidays about them-there sports.
