Shout Out To Montford Point Marines

We learned about The Montford Point Marines through Leslie Ware, PA-C, MEd. Ms. Ware served in the Airforce Reserves at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska in the 28th MSES. She was a Tech Sergeant and Medical Technician from 1986 to 1994 and is now the founder of Alpha Health & Wellness, DPC. During a pre-interview, she shared the importance of Black Marines serving during WWII.  The Montford Point Marines has a Museum established to preserve the legacy of the Montford Point Marines. If one of your family members served as a Montford Point Marine, let us know, asap. Your family member is important as this organization collects, records, and preserves relevant artifacts from that era. The museum is perfect for school-age students because it has the largest collection of photographs, documents, and papers relating to the unique history of African American Marines from 1942 to 1949.

The museum is located on Camp Johnson and requires base access or you must gain access to the base through the Wilson Gate visitors center.
