This North Carolina Hotel Ranks As The Third Best Haunted Hotel In The US
What’s one thing you can do this Halloween season to get into the spirit or should we say spirits? How about visiting the best haunted hotel in North Carolina?
I remember being about 16 years old and my parents took me to Estes Park Colorado where we visited the Stanley Hotel. If you don’t know the history, this (stunningly gorgeous) hotel was where Stephen King was inspired to write “The Shining”.
It has an eerie past, and even as someone who at that point in time had not seen the film or read the book, the idea of it creeped me out. What I didn’t know at that time, is that I had already stayed in a haunted hotel. And turns out a new study ranked that one the best haunted hotel in North Carolina.
The Best Haunted Hotel In North Carolina
This is according to a new study by our friends at Miss Tourist. They analyzed over 60 hotels using data from TripAdvisor to determine which ones are worth the visit. And their research has revealed that the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina, ranks as the third best haunted hotel in the U.S.
Over 9,068 Trip Advisor reviews have given the Omni Grove Park Inn a 4.5 star rating. And I can see why. I’ve only stayed there a couple of times, but I love to stop by even just for dinner and drinks or during the holidays to take in the gingerbread houses.
If you are at all familiar with the Grove Park Inn you probably think of the expansive lobby with huge fireplaces, the aforementioned gingerbread houses at Christmas, the world renowned spa, or perhaps the breathtaking sunsets from the back patio of the Inn.
But are you familiar with the Pink Lady? She’s the ghost that is said to haunt this historic hotel. It is believed that she is the spirit of a young woman who fell to her death from a balcony on the fifth floor during the 1920s. Guests and employees have reported seeing her most often in the form of a pink mist and on some occasions as a full-fledged apparition of a young woman in a pink ball gown. Sightings of the Pink Lady date back nearly a hundred years
So if you’re looking for a haunted, yet luxurious getaway the Grove Park Inn might be the place to go. Or check out this list below of some other haunted spots in the Carolinas you can visit.
