Scientists Discover Secret Cave On The Moon
As discoveries on the moon go, here’s one not many people would have seen coming. Scientists in Italy say they’ve found the first cave ever identified on the moon, stretching out from a pit in the Sea of Tranquility. The team worked from pictures taken by JAXA’s SELENE probe in 2009, which found more than 200 pits on Luna Daily Mail reports.
Why does it matter? Scientists say that the cave, and others like it, would be a perfect place to put a base on the moon. It’ll be a while before we go moon spelunking, though; while NASA is planning a trip to the moon called Artemis III, it’s going to land in the moon’s south polar region.
Cool ish! I love the moon, can’t wait to live there!
