There's nothing more appealing to me than fall festivals. And, there's one particular South Carolina fall festival that made the list of best fall festivals in the country. Travel+Leisure published a list recognizing one festival in each state. And, for South Carolina, they chose the upcoming Pecan Festival.
I love pecans. I know that's a random statement. But, I come from Texas where the pecan tree is our state tree. And, during the holidays I go through tons of pecans. Our favorite pie is, of course, the pecan pie! But, I had no idea there was a pecan festival in Florence, South Carolina every November.
Travel+Leisure chose this South Carolina fall festival as the one to represent the Palmetto State on their list of Best Fall Festivals in Every State. The pecan festival comes with everything a fall festival should. There are crafts, rides, car shows, food, and live entertainment. And, its popularity shows with more than 50,000 visitors every year. Also, it consistently takes home the 'Best of the Pee Dee' awards.
The South Carolina Pecan Festival takes place on Saturday, November 4, 2023. According to their website, the first Pecan Festival took place in 2003. And, it grew every year to what it is now. Plus, in 2011 the South Carolina Pecan Festival became the 'Official South Carolina State Pecan Festival.'
Festival organizers remain committed to keeping admission to the event FREE. Visitors enjoy more than 250 vendors throughout 7 blocks in the downtown Florence area. And, for those feeling ready to run, there's a 5K and 10K. Plus, I'm intrigued by The Pecan Pub.
The Pecan Pub is a beer garden type area offering a fall flight menu, as well as Bud Light and seltzers. And, the master local brewers are happy to share information about their craft beers and more with the Pecan Pub Experience. So, check Travel+Leisure's Best Fall Festivals in Every State list.
