That is a huge statement. Good living is in the eye of the person living. I might like country living while you prefer living in the city. The good folks at Stacker have done the metrics for us. Here are the best towns to live in North Carolina and South Carolina. See if you agree.
They factored in things like population, health care, and education to name a few. A lot of the basis for good living was recreation. What can you do there? What is the cost? Is it pet and family-friendly?
Stacker has a list of the best towns to live in across the country. In North Carolina, they picked Cary right outside of Raleigh. Cary boasts festivals, tons of places to ride bikes, and over 200 miles of greenways. It is close to a larger town giving it access to medical care options.
If you want to live in South Carolina, consider Tega Cay. Tega Cay is a small town that offers tons of water activities right at Lake Wylie.

These South Carolina Tiny Towns Are Two Of The Best In The US
The south is full of small towns. We talk about them often, and there are plenty to showcase. Then of course there are the major cities, which also get some respect and notoriety. But when you are craving a getaway where time really does slow down, and you can feel a part of the culture sometimes a small town is even too big. So perhaps plan a visit to a “tiny town”. The experts over at Southern Living Magazine and their readers recently voted on a list of the South’s Best Tiny Towns. And two South Carolina tiny towns were featured. The towns on the list are all under 10,000 population. And one in Texas has less than 100 residents who call it home.
In total twenty-one tiny towns were featured on this list. I’ve already told you two are in South Carolina. Both are coastal South Carolina tiny towns. Additionally, one North Carolina mountain town was featured. It happens to be a place I’ve visited often. There is also a Smoky Mountain town that’s not too far from the North Carolina border. Additionally, another Tennessee town, and a couple from Georgia. While I haven’t visited every place they included on this list, the ones I have been I’d recommend! So the next time you’re in the mood for a weekend getaway perhaps try this tiny town in North Carolina or one of the others.
