Woman Credits Breast Augmentation With Saving Her Life
One woman credits breast augmentation with saving her life!
According to the NY Post, a woman who was considering getting a breast augmentation for a couple of years finally went under the knife, and she is beyond grateful that she did. Rebecca Craggs’ procedure was life-changing, but not for the reason you might think. The 53-year-old now credits the cosmetic surgery with saving her life as it helped her catch a cancerous lump.
She got the implants last October, and everything went well she says she was really happy with the outcome. But as soon as she took off the surgical bra and bandages, she felt something moving around about a millimeter under her skin. “It was really prominent — like a hard broad bean and about the size of one, too,” Craggs explains. She immediately went to her doctor, who tried to assure her the lump was most likely a cyst and “wasn’t anything to worry about.”
But a mammogram, an ultrasound, and then a biopsy confirmed her worst fears – it was breast cancer. The mom of two had a lumpectomy to remove the tumor and extra tissue around it, followed by a few weeks of radiation. Craggs was given the good news that the cancer hadn’t spread any further, and she’s thankful for the implants for catching the lump early. “I’m just counting my lucky stars that I actually had the boob job,” she says. “It definitely could have saved my life.”
Coming off of October’s breast cancer awareness month, I would hope that all women are paying attention. Save the tatas.
